Video: Flow control structure
completed at Lowdham
A Jackson team has completed the flow control structure for a Flood Storage Reservoir it is constructing on behalf of the Environment Agency upstream of the Nottinghamshire village of Lowdham.
The reservoir, which is optimal for storing up to 100,000 cubic metres, is designed to protect the community who has suffered regular flooding over the years.
The concrete structure is a key part of the project - see the timelapse film below. It is designed to slow the flow of water from the reservoir basin into the river network. When the reservoir is finished, the structure will be mostly hidden within the embankment.
