Boost for school's
science learning

Jackson Civil Engineering has given a boost to science learning at a local school.
The company made a donation to Woodbridge Primary School near Ipswich who are fundraising to expand their collection of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) library books.
Jackson’s HR and Training Director, Claire Finbow, visited the school to see how the children are enjoying the books.
Clare said: “Encouraging science and maths learning is something that is close to our heart. We often engage with schools and colleges through our STEM Ambassadors.

“It was great to see the children enjoying the books and we hope they might help inspire one or two to become engineers in the future.”

Engaging
New books bought include titles such as 'Ada Twist, Scientist' and 'Leonora Bolt, secret inventor', which show girls and women in STEM, as well as non-fiction books on topics such as materials, forces, space, electricity, geology and sound.
Co-headteacher Mark Krisson said: “The books are extremely engaging in their presentation and fascinating in their content. They will no doubt sow many seeds of curiosity in the young minds of the children who read them.”

“We know of the old adage about it taking a village to raise a child. I'd offer a modern version for these financially challenging times, in that it takes a community to support a school."
