Jose Hermosilla, an Industrial Placement at Jackson was awarded the ICE East of England Best Technician Student award.
The Best Technician Student Award celebrates exceptional young civil engineers in the East of England, who are currently working towards an accredited HND/HNC or Foundation Degree in civil engineering.
The award is given by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) for engineering talent, a high standard of coursework and strong exam performance.
Jose said, “Receiving this award was unexpected, I did not know that I had been nominated until I received the letter saying that I had won.
This award made me feel very satisfied and proud, because it’s a reward of hard work and long nights!”
Course leaders from Anglia Ruskin University nominated Jose after finishing his year with an overall mark of 72%.
Claire Chattenton, Training & Development Manager said, “We are really pleased that Jose has been recognised in this way by the ICE. He has been working for us as an industrial placement since the summer of 2017 and has always show a positive and engaging approach to everything that he does. I am really proud of his achievement, well done Jose!”
